Santa Cop, Inc. was founded in 1985 and delivered gifts to about fifty families in Grand Prairie, Texas. That year we were assisted by the Marine Corps, Toys for Tots program. Santa Cop incorporated in 1986 under the Internal Revenue Service’s 501-3-c as a tax-exempt Charitable Organization. Santa Cop has grown steadily ever since, giving gifts to over 400 families annually.   Santa Cop, Inc. is sponsored by the Grand Prairie Police Department, and all work is done by volunteers. There are no paid employees. All cash donations go toward the purchase of gifts for the children. Our gifts are not limited to toys, but also include such as toothbrushes, grooming materials, and reading materials. Currently our office and storage space is donated by National Auto Body Parts Warehouse, so we do not pay rent or utilities.   In recent years Santa Cop Inc. has found that the need to the community has become a year round venture. We regularly assist the Victims Assistance Program of the Grand Prairie Police Department with the needs of families that are victims of Family Violence. Santa Cop assists families that are forced from their homes, as a protective measure, by providing gifts to children, miscellaneous supplies for adults and the elderly. Santa Cop also provides assistance to families that are victims of Fire, Flood, or other natural disasters.   Santa Cop will strive to provide the basic needs to the Families of Grand Prairie, when called upon. We are a community-based, charitable organization. We are a member of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce. We are funded solely by private and corporate donations.
